Who counters Kha'Zix — hardest matchups & how to play them

The toughest lane matchups for Kha'Zix on the Wild Rift China server, with why each is hard and exactly how to play it.

RammusKha'Zix vs Rammus Unfavorable

Why Rammus counters Kha'Zix: Armor, taunt, and never isolated in fights: to your entire kit he is a target that does not exist.

How to play Kha'Zix into Rammus: Ignore him: hunt the carries behind him. Always keep your escape jump while he lives: one taunt and you become an anecdote.

→ Rammus
ViKha'Zix vs Vi Unfavorable

Why Vi counters Kha'Zix: Her R grabs you even mid-jump and the shield holds your isolation burst: the certified anti-assassin.

How to play Kha'Zix into Vi: NEVER be the first visible target: enter after her R is spent. Evolve E for the reset: the escape is worth more than the extra damage.

→ Vi
WarwickKha'Zix vs Warwick Skill matchup

Why Warwick counters Kha'Zix: His sustain wins duels and his nose unmasks your ambushes: he smells you while you think you are invisible.

How to play Kha'Zix into Warwick: Duel only TRULY isolated targets, and he rarely is one. Steal camps on the opposite side of his path.

→ Warwick
Lee SinKha'Zix vs Lee Sin Skill matchup

Why Lee Sin counters Kha'Zix: He is an early duelist, you a growing assassin: he finds you before evolution makes you a problem.

How to play Kha'Zix into Lee Sin: Concede the first scuttle without fighting. After the Q evolution, isolated targets are yours: force him to play alone.

→ Lee Sin
KindredKha'Zix vs Kindred Skill matchup

Why Kindred counters Kha'Zix: Her kiting against your single jump, and her R denies your isolation execute at the worst moment.

How to play Kha'Zix into Kindred: Stay OUT of her R zone and finish whoever walks out of it. Invade her marks: slowing her scaling is half the job.

→ Kindred

Who to play with Kha'Zix — best team synergies

The champions Kha'Zix works best alongside on the Wild Rift China server, lane by lane, with the reason each pairing works.

Best Baron partners for Kha'Zix

Kha'Zix + Camille Best pairing

The Hextech Ultimatum (R) locks one target inside a zone and shoves everyone else out: that is exactly the isolation Taste Their Fear (Q) is asking for. You come in with Leap (E) and the Q lands at full value, with no peel possible.

Kha'Zix + Singed Best pairing

Fling (E) hurls one enemy behind Singed, away from their team: for Taste Their Fear (Q) that target counts as isolated, and Mega Adhesive (W) pins them down long enough for Leap (E) and a second Q.

Kha'Zix + K'Sante Strong

His page says his job is isolating one target while the team collapses onto it: All Out (R) drags a champion away from their allies and the third Ntofo Strikes (Q) stuns them, so Leap (E) lands on someone who cannot answer.

Kha'Zix + Irelia Strong

Vanguard's Edge (R) plants a wall of blades that cuts the fight in half: whoever ends up on your side has nobody left nearby, and that is exactly the target on which Taste Their Fear (Q) stops being an ordinary ability.

Kha'Zix + Shen Strong

Your page says that outside stealth you have nothing to survive with: Stand United (R) shields you and teleports him onto you from across the map. Shadow Dash (E) is then a long-range taunt that hands you a motionless target.

Kha'Zix + Jax Situational

Worth it if you play the map on split lanes: Jax holds a side lane by himself and whoever is sent to stop him goes alone, which is exactly the target Taste Their Fear (Q) takes its isolation bonus on. Counter Strike (E) stuns whoever duels him.

Best Mid partners for Kha'Zix

Kha'Zix + Twisted Fate Best pairing

Your whole kit lives on finding someone standing alone: the global reveal from Destiny (R) shows you who before you even move, and the teleport drops him into your gank. The Gold Card from Pick a Card (W) stuns for 1.25 seconds.

Kha'Zix + Ahri Strong

Charm (E) walks the target toward you for 1.4 seconds, which is all Leap (E) and Taste Their Fear (Q) need to land on a squishy who cannot dash away. And Spirit Rush (R) makes her one of the few mids who really roams with you.

Kha'Zix + Zoe Strong

Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) puts a lone roamer to sleep from range, and that is exactly the isolated target where Taste Their Fear (Q) does its real damage. Portal Jump (R) lets her show up in the jungle with you instead of watching from lane.

Kha'Zix + Lissandra Strong

Frozen Tomb (R) is a single-target stun that simply cannot be dodged: on a carry caught out of position it hands you the whole Leap (E) into Taste Their Fear (Q), while the Ring of Frost (W) root holds off anyone trying to peel.

Kha'Zix + Taliyah Situational

Seismic Shove (W) throws an enemy wherever she wants, so she can push a target away from its team and onto you, and Weaver's Wall (R) cuts off the retreat of whoever you just jumped. It only works if you talk to each other, though.

Best Duo (ADC) partners for Kha'Zix

Kha'Zix + Ashe Best pairing

Enchanted Crystal Arrow (R) stuns from off-screen: it is the simplest way to freeze a carry standing away from her team and buy you time to get there with Leap (E). And Frost Shot (P) slows on every hit, so nobody leaves your jump range.

Kha'Zix + Jhin Strong

Deadly Flourish (W) turns into a real root on anyone an ally has just damaged: one touch from Void Spike (W) or the Unseen Threat (P) slow is enough, and the target is locked before you even land your Leap (E).

Kha'Zix + Xayah Strong

With three feathers landed, Bladecaller (E) roots the target for 1.25 seconds: that is exactly the window you need for Leap (E), Taste Their Fear (Q) and the Unseen Threat (P) empowered hit on a squishy left behind.

Kha'Zix + Varus Situational

Chain of Corruption (R) immobilizes from across the screen and hands you a target that cannot move. Careful, though: it spreads between nearby enemies, so use it on a straggler, not on the pile, where Taste Their Fear (Q) loses its bonus.

Best Support partners for Kha'Zix

Kha'Zix + Thresh Best pairing

Death Sentence (Q) rips one enemy out of their group and hands them to you alone and stunned: that is isolation manufactured for Taste Their Fear (Q). And the Dark Passage (W) lantern is the escape you lack outside Void Assault (R).

Kha'Zix + Blitzcrank Best pairing

Rocket Grab (Q) is the purest isolation tool in the game: it pulls a carry out of her own team and drops her where you are, then Power Fist (E) knocks her up. On a target with nobody nearby, Taste Their Fear (Q) hits at full value.

Kha'Zix + Pyke Strong

He is the only support who roams the map at your speed: Bone Skewer (Q) drags the target out of position and Phantom Undertow (E) stuns it, while Ghostwater Dive (W) hides him the same way Void Assault (R) hides you.

Kha'Zix + Morgana Strong

Your page says a single piece of crowd control mid-Leap (E) deletes you: Black Shield (E) eats exactly that. And before it, Dark Binding (Q) is a two-second root that hands you a target frozen and away from its team.

Kha'Zix + Senna Strong

Curse of the Black Mist (E) camouflages your whole team, so you can take the flank without spending Void Assault (R) and keep it for the reset. Last Embrace (W) then roots the target, so Leap (E) and Taste Their Fear (Q) land on a frozen squishy.

How to play Kha'Zix — Wild Rift guide, combos & tips

Kha'Zix is a jungle assassin in Wild Rift built to hunt down isolated targets and erase them before they can react. Every part of his physical damage kit scales around catching someone alone — a split-pushed laner, a wandering support, an out-of-position mage — and turning that mistake into a kill. Add a stealth-based ultimate for repositioning and resets, and you get a snowbally solo-carry who wins fights before he even commits to them.

Strengths

  • Massive burst against isolated targets: Taste Their Fear's damage jumps sharply when nobody is near the target, so a clean pick can delete a squishy in a single combo.
  • Flexible power spikes: Void Assault lets you choose which ability to evolve every time it ranks up, so you can adapt Q, W, or E to whatever the game needs.
  • Unseen Threat refreshes the instant you leave enemy vision, giving repeatable slows and pseudo-stealth engages out of brush or fog.
  • Void Assault's invisibility and recast window grant strong reset and disengage potential mid-fight, letting him reposition onto a second target or bail out of a bad trade.

Weaknesses

  • Weak early numbers before evolutions and core items come online, so forced 1v1s against dedicated early-game junglers tend to go poorly.
  • Very low survivability outside of his stealth window — no shields or hard CC to peel attackers off him once he's caught.
  • Brings almost no teamfight utility beyond his own damage, so a shut-down Kha'Zix is close to a passenger for the rest of the game.
  • Hard-countered by true sight, reveal effects, and any CC that can interrupt him mid-Leap, since those strip away his entire engage and stealth game.

Combos

  • AA (empowered by Unseen Threat, ideally from brush) → E → Q: land the slow first, then leap in and follow up with Taste Their Fear for the isolation damage bonus.
  • R → E → Q → AA: vanish with Void Assault to flank around vision, then burst an isolated target the instant you reappear.
  • W → E → Q (once Void Spike is evolved): reveal and slow a target hiding in brush or fleeing on low HP, then leap in to finish.
  • E → Q → AA → E → Q (once Leap is evolved): a champion takedown resets E's cooldown, letting you chain straight from one isolated kill to the next.

Skill order: Q > E > W — max Taste Their Fear first for damage, then Leap for mobility; evolve whichever ability fits the situation each time Void Assault ranks up.

Early game

Clear jungle camps efficiently using Q's isolation bonus against monsters, and lean on Void Spike's self-heal when you're caught in its own blast for sustain through camps and early skirmishes. Look for ganks on lanes where the enemy is already alone rather than forcing 1v1s against stronger early-game junglers, since Kha'Zix's raw stats lag behind dedicated duelists before evolutions and items kick in. Use Unseen Threat's slow from an unwarded bush to lock a target down before committing Leap, and grab your first evolution plus an early lethality item as soon as your ultimate is up to unlock your real power spike.

Mid & late game — teamfighting

From mid game on, play Kha'Zix as a flanker: hang back or turn invisible with Void Assault while your frontline engages, then circle around to find whichever squishy has drifted away from their team's peel. Avoid committing Q into a grouped fight — the isolation bonus is your entire damage identity, so wait for a target to separate even slightly before diving in. Use the ultimate's recast window to reposition onto a second target or to vanish and disengage if the fight turns against you, and if Leap is evolved, chain its cooldown resets off takedowns to jump from one isolated kill straight to the next.

Pro tips

  • Hop in and out of brush or fog before engaging — Unseen Threat refreshes the instant you leave vision, so you can re-arm the slow for free before every fight.
  • Choose your evolution around the enemy comp: evolve E to chain kills across a spread-out team, evolve Q to stretch your isolation-execute range and cooldowns against squishy comps, evolve W to reveal and shred stealthy or split-pushing threats.
  • Rush lethality first — Youmuu's Ghostblade or Duskblade of Draktharr for early tempo and burst — then adapt: Serylda's Grudge or Eclipse to shred tankier frontlines, Serpent's Fang if the enemy carries lean on shields.
