Who counters Shyvana — hardest matchups & how to play them

The toughest lane matchups for Shyvana on the Wild Rift China server, with why each is hard and exactly how to play it.

KindredShyvana vs Kindred Unfavorable

Why Kindred counters Shyvana: She kites you in duels and contests the dragon — literally your identity: every mark of hers is a lost document.

How to play Shyvana into Kindred: Vision on the dragon BEFORE it spawns, always. In dragon form you maul her: transform ONLY once she is already locked down.

→ Kindred
RammusShyvana vs Rammus Unfavorable

Why Rammus counters Shyvana: Half your damage is basic attacks and he is a shopping mall of armor: the dragon spitting on an umbrella.

How to play Shyvana into Rammus: Build AP or hybrid: flames do not read armor. Farm your side and burn their carries in fights: ignore him entirely.

→ Rammus
Lee SinShyvana vs Lee Sin Unfavorable

Why Lee Sin counters Shyvana: He invades during the clears where you have neither fury nor dueling power: the baby dragon is just a lizard in debt.

How to play Shyvana into Lee Sin: Farm mirrored and concede every scuttle before 5. With R up the relationship flips instantly: be found angry.

→ Lee Sin
WarwickShyvana vs Warwick Skill matchup

Why Warwick counters Shyvana: Sustain versus flames: he wins the medium duels, you win the dragon ones.

How to play Shyvana into Warwick: Never 1v1 in human form. Your dragon-form E cooks past his sustain: always open transformed.

→ Warwick
ViShyvana vs Vi Skill matchup

Why Vi counters Shyvana: Her R grabs you mid-transformation: the dragon shot down at takeoff.

How to play Shyvana into Vi: Transform BEFORE contact, never during. Your dragon burst processes her: enter from the flank, not the front.

→ Vi

Who to play with Shyvana — best team synergies

The champions Shyvana works best alongside on the Wild Rift China server, lane by lane, with the reason each pairing works.

Best Baron partners for Shyvana

Shyvana + Malphite Best pairing

Your page says you bring the team no hard crowd control at all: Unstoppable Force (R) is exactly what is missing. It knocks a group up and pins it while the Burnout (W) ring and the Flame Breath (E) burn tick on all of them at once.

Shyvana + Ornn Strong

From level 7 Living Forge (P) hands global shopping to a nearby ally: you buy and upgrade without leaving the jungle, instead of losing the minutes you need for Dragon Blood stacks. And Call of the Forge God (R) knocks up the group you want to land on.

Shyvana + Gnar Strong

All your damage runs through basic attacks, so an enemy who walks away is an enemy you never kill: GNAR! (R) slams the group into terrain and stuns it, and Wallop (W) adds another 1.25 seconds. All that is left are motionless bodies to chew through.

Shyvana + Shen Strong

Dragon's Descent (R) leaves you airborne and locked into the flight path, and that is exactly when an enemy engage catches you: Stand United (R) shields you as you land, from anywhere on the map, and Shadow Dash (E) taunts whoever was waiting.

Shyvana + Singed Situational

While he drains a side lane with Poison Trail (Q) the enemy sends two people to stop him and the dragon is left uncontested: 35 Dragon Blood stacks with no fight at all. Grouped in a 5v5, though, the two of you never meet.

Best Mid partners for Shyvana

Shyvana + Twisted Fate Best pairing

Fury of the Dragonborn (P) pays you 35 stacks for a dragon and 15 for the Herald, so your plan is getting there first: Destiny (R) reveals the map and teleports him to the objective from wherever he is, and you contest every one of them five on four.

Shyvana + Orianna Strong

Command: Protect (E) attaches the ball to you and shields you: you carry it in with Dragon's Descent (R), the moment you are most exposed. Then Command: Shockwave (R) piles them into a single spot, inside your Burnout (W) ring.

Shyvana + Lissandra Strong

Kiting and hard crowd control are the two things that switch you off: Ring of Frost (W) roots and Frozen Tomb (R) freezes the same target for nearly three seconds. That is three seconds of autos with Twin Bite (Q) landing twice each.

Shyvana + Nasus Strong

Half your damage is physical and comes through Twin Bite (Q): Spirit Fire (E) shreds the armour that eats it, and Wither (W) strips movement and attack speed from the target that would otherwise keep you at arm's length all fight.

Shyvana + Galio Strong

You land alone in the middle of them with no shield and no escape: Hero's Entrance (R) drops onto you with a shield and a knock-up on everyone who closed in. And Justice Punch (E) knocks up whoever dives your backline while you are elsewhere.

Shyvana + Ryze Situational

Worth it if your team actually moves together: Realm Warp (R) drops all of you behind the objective before the enemy reads it, and a dragon is 35 stacks for you. The channel lasts two seconds, though, and any crowd control cancels it.

Best Duo (ADC) partners for Shyvana

Shyvana + Ashe Best pairing

A target that keeps you at range cancels you out: Frost Shot (P) slows with every hit, so you stay glued and Twin Bite (Q) keeps landing twice. And Enchanted Crystal Arrow (R) opens the fight for you, without spending Dragon's Descent (R) just to arrive.

Shyvana + Jhin Strong

Deadly Flourish (W) roots anyone an ally has just hit: one long-range Flame Breath (E) is enough and the target is pinned before you even arrive. Then Curtain Call (R) finishes whoever walks out of your attack rotation alive.

Shyvana + Kalista Strong

Dragon's Descent (R) commits you to the flight path and you cannot cancel halfway: bonded to her as her Oathsworn, Fate's Call (R) rips you out of a landing gone wrong. And Sentinel (W) puts eyes on the river, where you spend half the game.

Shyvana + Ezreal Strong

Your page says you bring your team nothing beyond your own damage: Ezreal is the marksman who asks for no protection, because Arcane Shift (E) does it himself. That frees you to dive their backline instead of babysitting yours.

Shyvana + Miss Fortune Situational

Worth it against teams that stand close together: Bullet Time (R) pours twelve waves out in three seconds and your Dragon Form Burnout (W) ring keeps them inside it. You bring no hard crowd control, though, so someone else has to freeze them.

Best Support partners for Shyvana

Shyvana + Nami Best pairing

Tidecaller's Blessing (E) loads bonus damage and a slow onto your next attacks, and Twin Bite (Q) makes every one of them land twice: the multiplier a pure basic-attack kit is asking for. And Aqua Prison (Q) knocks the target up without you flying in.

Shyvana + Braum Best pairing

Concussive Blows (P) reaches four marks off his hits and yours: with Twin Bite (Q) landing twice and Burnout (W) pushing you in, the stun arrives sooner than with any marksman. And Unbreakable (E) blocks the shot waiting for you on landing.

Shyvana + Sona Strong

Crescendo (R) stuns the first target it touches and slows everyone else caught inside: for a kit that lives on basic attacks, a group that cannot run is worth more than any added damage. And Aria of Perseverance (W) keeps you upright in the middle.

Shyvana + Thresh Strong

Death Sentence (Q) and Flay (E) hand you a body that cannot move, which is the only thing you actually need. And Dark Passage (W) pulls you out after Dragon's Descent (R) left you alone behind their lines with an empty Fury bar.

Shyvana + Morgana Strong

Your page says a well-timed enemy engage catches you while you are still in the air: Black Shield (E) absorbs that crowd control before it touches you and you land anyway. And Dark Binding (Q) roots the target you plan to chew on for two seconds.

How to play Shyvana — Wild Rift guide, combos & tips

Shyvana is a Fighter who lives in the Wild Rift jungle, built entirely around basic attacks, a hybrid physical-and-magic damage kit, and a permanent stacking system called Dragon Blood that rewards aggressive clearing and objective control. She trades in extended duels rather than one-shot burst, weaving Twin Bite's double hit and Flame Breath's burn into every fight, then spikes hard whenever she banks enough Fury to transform into a flying dragon. She's rated as one of the easiest junglers to pick up, but her ceiling comes from knowing exactly when to cash in her stacks and her ultimate for maximum value.

Strengths

  • Fast, safe jungle clears: Twin Bite's double proc and Burnout's 3-second damage-over-time (extendable up to 4 more seconds with autos) chew through camps quickly and let her gank earlier than most junglers.
  • Hybrid physical and magic damage - on-hit Twin Bite alongside magic Burnout and Flame Breath - makes her genuinely awkward to itemize against, since no single resistance stat shuts her down.
  • Dragon's Descent is a real game-changer: +350 health, a knockback dash, and an upgraded Dragon Form kit turn her into one of the scarier teamfight divers and split-pushers in the game once Fury and Dragon Blood stacks are up.
  • Very forgiving difficulty for the power on offer - her whole game plan is auto-attack, weave abilities, farm stacks, transform - with none of the tricky skill-shot combos harder junglers demand.

Weaknesses

  • Genuinely soft before she stacks up: with no Dragon Blood and an empty Fury bar, early skirmishes and invades from aggressive early-game junglers like Lee Sin can go badly.
  • Almost everything she does runs through basic attacks, so hard CC, kiting, or a wall of armor blunts a huge share of both her damage and her fight-extending sustain.
  • Dragon's Descent has a real commitment window - she's airborne and locked into the flight path, which is exactly when a well-timed hard-engage ultimate can catch and burst her out of the sky before she lands.
  • Brings almost no utility for her team beyond her own damage and the R's knockback: no shields, no hard CC to peel with, so she has to win her own fights rather than enable teammates in theirs.

Combos

  • Q → AA → E: proc Twin Bite for the double hit, weave the auto attack to shave 0.5 seconds off its cooldown, then land Flame Breath so the burn empowers every auto that follows. The bread-and-butter trading pattern in early skirmishes.
  • W → AA (repeat) → Q: pop Burnout for the move speed and damage tick, then keep auto-attacking both to extend Burnout's duration and to reset Twin Bite sooner. This is how you run down a kiting target or outlast a skirmish the enemy expected to end quickly.
  • R → E → Q → AA: fly in with Dragon's Descent onto an isolated backline target, detonate Flame Breath for the AoE burn explosion in Dragon Form, then finish with Twin Bite and autos through Dragon Form's widened attack range. Her core all-in once Fury hits 100.
  • E → Q → AA (loop): for jungle camps and epic monsters, burn with Flame Breath, proc Twin Bite, and weave autos until it dies - prioritizing whichever camp or objective pushes you over your next 100-stack breakpoint.

Skill order: Q > E > W

Early game

Clear efficiently and route toward river skirmishes and the scuttle fights - every large monster is worth 8 Dragon Blood stacks, every champion takedown or contested Rift Herald/Baron is worth 15, and a Dragon kill alone is worth 35, so a good early pathing plan is really a plan for hitting your first 100-stack power spike faster. Gank the moment Twin Bite is off cooldown; the double on-hit plus Burnout's decaying 30% move speed is usually enough on its own to force a kill or a Flash out of whatever lane you arrive in. Be cautious about contesting your own camps against fast early junglers before your Fury bar and stacks are online - you want to be doing the invading, not surviving it. Treat the dragon and Rift Herald as personal priorities, not just team objectives, since both hand you a big chunk of Dragon Blood in a single fight.

Mid & late game — teamfighting

Walk into every major objective fight or teamfight with a full Fury bar so you can flip into Dragon's Descent the instant the fight opens rather than midway through it when it's needed most. Use the flight to dive an isolated priority target or displace whoever the enemy leans on most, then chain Flame Breath's AoE burn explosion and Twin Bite's on-hit damage through Dragon Form's widened range while Burnout's expanded fire ring keeps the whole area ticking. Play as a diving frontline threat, not a pure tank - your job is deleting priority targets while Dragon Form's bonus health, and Ocean's Breath's omnivamp once it's unlocked, keep you upright through the trade - then disengage once Fury runs dry rather than overstaying in a form with nothing left to fuel it.

Pro tips

  • Treat Dragon Blood as a resource to plan around, not a background stat: the 100/200/300/400 breakpoints hand you a real slow, bonus move speed, true-damage burns, and omnivamp in Dragon Form, so timing a big fight to land just after you cross one changes what you can actually do in it.
  • Never commit Dragon's Descent blind - you're airborne and locked into the flight, and a hard-CC ultimate timed well punishes the transformation before you ever reach the target. Bait it out or wait for it to be spent first.
  • Itemize around the hybrid on-hit damage: Trinity Force and Blade of the Ruined King scale beautifully with Twin Bite's double proc, then pivot into Death's Dance, Force of Nature, or Thornmail depending on whether the enemy's damage is burst AD, sustained AP, or lifesteal-heavy - or Amaranth Twinguard when the game just calls for raw durability.
