Who counters Soraka — hardest matchups & how to play them

The toughest lane matchups for Soraka on the Wild Rift China server, with why each is hard and exactly how to play it.

BlitzcrankSoraka vs Blitzcrank Unfavorable

Why Blitzcrank counters Soraka: If he hooks the banana thrower, the duo's game ends right there: you are tissue paper with stars.

How to play Soraka into Blitzcrank: Live behind minions and cast W ONLY when safe: a dead Soraka heals zero. Root his entry after the hook.

→ Blitzcrank
ZyraSoraka vs Zyra Unfavorable

Why Zyra counters Soraka: Her poke outpaces your regeneration and the plants punish every step you take forward for Q.

How to play Soraka into Zyra: Q from maximum range: the bonus speed carries you back out. Root to interrupt her R and heal with judgment: lose the lane, win the fights.

→ Zyra
PykeSoraka vs Pyke Unfavorable

Why Pyke counters Soraka: Your heals do not save anyone from a percent execute: his scythe laughs at your W.

How to play Soraka into Pyke: Heal PRE-EMPTIVELY, never in reaction to his R. Silence his dive: a muted Pyke inside your team is a fish in a boat.

→ Pyke
MilioSoraka vs Milio Skill matchup

Why Milio counters Soraka: A healing contest: his versatile kit against your endless W. The difference is who pokes better.

How to play Soraka into Milio: Q on his every forward step: here the lane bully is you. Your global R wins fights you cannot even see: keep it for the map.

→ Milio
LeonaSoraka vs Leona Skill matchup

Why Leona counters Soraka: If her train catches the ADC in full, you heal in installments what she removes in bulk.

How to play Soraka into Leona: Root her E: stop the train at departure. Heal ONLY after the CC chain: doing it during the stun chain is pouring water into a broken bucket.

→ Leona

Who to play with Soraka — best team synergies

The champions Soraka works best alongside on the Wild Rift China server, lane by lane, with the reason each pairing works.

Best Baron partners for Soraka

Soraka + Darius Best pairing

Noxian Guillotine (R) fully resets on a kill, so the only thing limiting Darius is his own health bar. Wish (R) heals every ally wherever they are, with 50% extra healing under 35% HP: that is what turns a double kill into a quadra.

Soraka + Tryndamere Strong

Undying Rage (R) gives him five seconds where he cannot die, but he still comes out of it on one health. Wish (R) inside that window does not merely save him: it refills him, and the duel he had already lost starts over.

Soraka + Shen Strong

You are the squishiest champion in the game and you have no escape: Stand United (R) shields you and drops Shen next to you from anywhere on the map, and Shadow Dash (E) taunts whoever was about to delete you in one second.

Soraka + Yone Strong

Yone is extremely fragile and Soul Unbound (E) always snaps his spirit back on a fixed timer, which is exactly when opponents punish him. Astral Infusion (W) right then, or Wish (R) if he is already under 35%, turns that dive into a win.

Soraka + Singed Strong

Singed lives proxying deep in enemy territory where no healing ever reaches him: Wish (R) does, because it heals everywhere. In the early levels, when he is at his weakest, you save him the recall and he keeps shoving the wave.

Soraka + Jax Situational

Grandmaster-at-Arms (R) gives him resistances and more damage the longer a duel runs, and Counter Strike (E) only asks him to survive one more exchange: Wish (R) buys it. Worth it if the game hinges on his 1v1s, not on teamfights.

Best Jungle partners for Soraka

Soraka + Vi Best pairing

Cease and Desist (R) always gets her onto the enemy carry; the hard part is getting out alive, and unsupported she trades her life for one kill. With Wish (R) and Astral Infusion (W) on her, that dive wins the fight instead.

Soraka + Rengar Strong

Battle Roar (W) only heals him off monsters: if the leap on a champion does not close, Rengar has nothing left to stay alive with. You are that healing, and Wish (R) reaches him even after a Thrill of the Hunt (R) across the map.

Soraka + Xin Zhao Strong

All of his damage depends on staying on target for the three empowered Three Talon Strike (Q) hits, and he is squishy before items: your healing buys him exactly those seconds. In return, Crescent Guard (R) is the peel you cannot give yourself.

Soraka + Nunu & Willump Strong

Absolute Zero (R) is a three-second channel where he stands still and everyone focuses him: if he dies before it lands, nothing happens at all. Astral Infusion (W) and Wish (R) are exactly what carries it through to the end.

Soraka + Master Yi Situational

Meditate (W) heals him but freezes him in place, and he cannot attack while channelling: your healing gives him the same health without switching him off, so Highlander (R) keeps resetting on every kill. Only once he is already the threat.

Best Mid partners for Soraka

Soraka + Morgana Best pairing

One hook or one dive deletes you, and that is the only way your team loses its healing: Black Shield (E) blocks that crowd control outright. In return, Wish (R) keeps her standing while she channels Soul Shackles (R) in the middle of everyone.

Soraka + Swain Strong

Demonic Ascension (R) re-arms every six seconds for as long as he stays in demon form: the longer he survives inside the fight, the more damage he deals and the more he heals himself. Wish (R) and Astral Infusion (W) extend exactly that.

Soraka + Twisted Fate Strong

Destiny (R) teleports him into a fight on the far side of the map where no support can follow: Wish (R) can, because it heals everyone everywhere. For a champion with no shield, no heal and no dash, that is the only safety net there is.

Soraka + Kassadin Strong

Before level 5 Kassadin has no mobility and loses almost every trade: all he needs is to stay in lane. Wish (R) heals him from anywhere on the map, so he skips the recall and reaches Riftwalk (R) with his experience and gold intact.

Soraka + Aurelion Sol Strong

Outside Astral Flight (W) he has no dash and no shield, so an assassin who jumps him simply deletes him. Equinox (E) silences the moment you cast it and roots whoever is still inside 1.5 seconds later: the dive dies before it starts.

Soraka + Nasus Situational

Nasus has no escape at all and only wins long fights: Wish (R) and Astral Infusion (W) stretch the Fury of the Sands (R) window, and Wither (W) is the peel you cannot give yourself. For games that genuinely reach the late game.

Best Duo (ADC) partners for Soraka

Soraka + Kog'Maw Best pairing

Kog'Maw loses almost every trade before level 5 and owns no dash: Astral Infusion (W) keeps him in lane until his first AP items land, and Equinox (E) silences the dash or the ultimate of anyone trying to jump on him.

Soraka + Smolder Strong

His whole game is stacking Dragon Practice without being interrupted, and the early game is his worst phase. Starcall (Q) on a champion heals you and shortens Astral Infusion (W), so you can keep topping him up wave after wave.

Soraka + Yunara Strong

Her early game is standing still and auto-attacking, which is exactly what long-range poke punishes, and Kanmei's Steps (E) gives her speed, not a dash. Your healing lets her keep hitting, and Equinox (E) stops whoever walks at her.

Soraka + Draven Strong

Draven only wins lane if he can take every single trade and keep catching Spinning Axe (Q), and every trade leaves him lower. Starcall (Q) on a champion heals you and shortens Astral Infusion (W): he never has to walk back to base.

Soraka + Miss Fortune Strong

Bullet Time (R) is a stationary three-second channel: if it gets cut short, the fight is gone. Equinox (E) at her feet silences the dash of whoever is closing in and roots them 1.5 seconds later, while Astral Infusion (W) covers the rest.

Soraka + Jhin Situational

Curtain Call (R) is four shots he has to stand still and fire: one heal on him, or an Equinox (E) under whoever is charging him, gets all four off. But Jhin wants a support who opens fights, and you never open a single one.

How to play Soraka — Wild Rift guide, combos & tips

Soraka, the Star Child, is a Support in Wild Rift whose kit revolves around magic-damage pokes and near-constant healing rather than dealing damage herself. She brings some of the best sustain and team utility of any support -- including a global-range heal-everyone ultimate -- but she is also one of the squishiest champions in the game, so her value comes from positioning and timing, not mechanical combos.

Strengths

  • Unmatched teamfight sustain: Wish heals every ally on the map at once, and the 50% bonus healing on anyone under 35% HP can undo a bad fight with a single button press.
  • Strong lane sustain: Starcall heals her back and shortens Astral Infusion's cooldown whenever it hits an enemy champion, letting her out-sustain most poke supports over a long lane.
  • Reliable peel: Equinox silences on cast to shut down a channel or ultimate, then roots anyone still standing in it 1.5 seconds later.
  • Very beginner-friendly kit with free mobility: the passive grants up to 100% movement speed when running toward a low-health ally, so she's always in position to heal.

Weaknesses

  • Extremely fragile: very low HP and armor mean a single hook, dive, or burst combo can delete her before she reacts.
  • Minimal personal damage: she can't punish a greedy laner or win a straight fight through damage alone, only through healing math.
  • Starcall is a skillshot with a brief telegraph, so a good opponent can simply walk out of it, denying both the poke and the self-heal it grants.
  • No hard escape: once Equinox is on cooldown, the only mobility she has is the passive's movement speed toward an ally, which doesn't help when she's the one being chased.

Combos

  • Q into W: land Starcall on the enemy laner -- the hit heals you and cuts Astral Infusion's cooldown, letting you immediately follow up with a full heal to win the sustain trade.
  • E onto a diver, then let the root finish it: drop Equinox at the diver's feet to silence their dash or ultimate, then let your team burst them down once the 1.5-second root locks them in place.
  • Empowered Q into R: once Starcall has healed allies three times, its next cast hits a wider area for 140% damage -- use that big poke right before calling Wish so you can zone the enemy and top your team back up in the same fight.
  • Passive-assisted W: sprint toward your lowest-HP ally with the movement speed bonus and land Astral Infusion the instant you're in range, instead of healing from an angle that gets you caught.

Skill order: Q > W > E

Early game

Stay near max range in lane and poke with Starcall whenever the enemy goes for a minion or steps up to trade -- landing it on a champion heals you back and cuts your Astral Infusion cooldown, so you rarely need to spend mana just to sustain. Hold Equinox as your answer to an all-in rather than a poke tool: one well-placed silence on an engaging jungler or support can turn a gank around before it starts. Because your survivability is so low, never trade at a range where a single burst combo kills you outright, and let your ADC or duo-lane partner absorb the front line while you sit just behind them.

Mid & late game — teamfighting

From the mid-game on, hang near the back of every skirmish and let your carries engage first -- your job is healing and peel, not front-lining. Save Wish for the moment an ally is actually under 35% HP so you get the bonus healing, rather than casting it on cooldown; a well-timed Wish right before or after an all-in can single-handedly swing a teamfight in your favor. Use Equinox proactively on whichever enemy is diving your ADC or mid laner -- the silence alone can cancel a dash-and-cast ultimate -- and keep repositioning with your passive so you're always in range of whoever needs healing next.

Pro tips

  • Don't panic-cast Wish early: the 50% bonus healing on anyone under 35% HP is often the difference between winning and losing a fight, so hold it for that window when you can.
  • Track your own empowered Starcall -- after healing allies three times, the next cast hits a bigger area for far more damage, so look for a real poke or zoning opportunity instead of wasting it on a single minion wave.
  • Build into your healing power with items like Harmonic Echo and Ardent Censer, and grab a shield piece such as Bulwark of the Mountain against heavy burst comps -- the extra shielding keeps both you and your carries alive long enough for Wish to matter.
