The toughest lane matchups for Zoe on the Wild Rift China server, with why each is hard and exactly how to play it.
Why Fizz counters Zoe: His E dodges your bubble on command and his post-5 all-in gives you no time to place the second Q.
How to play Zoe into Fizz: Bubble ONLY after his E. Maximum distance at all times: if he reaches you with the bubble spent, the trade was lost already.
→ FizzWhy Yasuo counters Zoe: The Wall eats bubble and Q, and minion dashes carry him through your kill zone like an airport corridor.
How to play Zoe into Yasuo: Bubble behind the wave, where a Wall is not already standing. Steal summoners with W and win by patience, not by trades.
→ YasuoWhy Kassadin counters Zoe: The magic shield drinks your charged Q: your 400-damage poke becomes a tickle, and after 9 his jump finds you.
How to play Zoe into Kassadin: Poke with basic attacks: the magic shield does not stop them. Bubble reserved for his jump. Close the game in the mid game.
→ KassadinWhy Diana counters Zoe: Her entry is telegraphed by the Q, but her shield absorbs your answer if you spend it too early.
How to play Zoe into Diana: Bubble her dash: after her Q the trajectory is fixed. Never stand within jump range with the bubble on cooldown.
→ DianaWhy Ahri counters Zoe: A skillshot mirror: bubble versus Charm. The difference is who uses minions as cover better.
How to play Zoe into Ahri: Your bubble flies OVER minions at the right angles: hunt them from the sides. Never in open space after her 5.
→ AhriThe champions Zoe works best alongside on the Wild Rift China server, lane by lane, with the reason each pairing works.
Steadfast Presence (W) roots the assassin the instant he dashes at you, which is the only way you ever die, and Heroic Charge (E) into a wall stuns for 1.7 seconds: Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) on a pinned body stops being dodgeable.
Your page says that if they reach you there is no fight: Shadow Dash (E) taunts the diver before he touches you and Stand United (R) shields you from across the map. The taunt also hands you the still target your bubble wants.
All Out (R) drags the enemy carry away from her team and leaves her alone and rooted: the isolated target where Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) and Paddle Star! (Q) do their full job. Footwork (E) dashes to you and shares his shield.
The Hextech Ultimatum (R) locks the carry in a zone she cannot leave and shoves away anyone who would peel for her: inside that arena the bubble cannot be dodged, and nobody wakes her before your Paddle Star! (Q) arrives.
Worth it against dive comps, and only when he stops pushing a side lane: Mega Adhesive (W) and Fling (E) pin down whoever reached your face, and you do not own a single defensive tool of your own.
Infinite Duress (R) suppresses for a full second: the bubble goes out guaranteed and your whole rotation lands before the target can move again. Below 35% health Blood Hunt (W) hunts them down, which is where your burst leaves people.
Cease and Desist (R) is point-and-click and unstoppable: it hands you the enemy carry from behind their frontline, held still and alone for as long as Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) and Paddle Star! (Q) need.
Cursed Touch (P) adds true damage to every point of magic damage they take, and yours is all magic apart from the 40 true on wake-up. Curse of the Sad Mummy (R) holds them for 1.5 seconds, and the bubble is only dodged by walking.
Paranoia (R) shuts off the enemy team's vision, so your two slow skillshots arrive on people who never saw them leave your hand, and Unspeakable Horror (E) holds a target still long enough for the bubble to catch it.
Crescent Guard (R) knocks back everyone except his marked target and blocks ranged damage: with no shield, no dash and no escape, it is the only thing that peels a diver off your backline.
Your declared problem is that the bubble travels slowly and gets dodged: against Frost Shot (P), slowing on every single hit, it stops getting dodged. Enchanted Crystal Arrow (R) stuns up to 3.5 seconds and opens your full combo from off-screen.
Deadly Flourish (W) roots anyone an ally has just damaged, so a long-range Paddle Star! (Q) arms it for him, and on a rooted target the bubble is guaranteed. Curtain Call (R) then executes whatever your burst leaves standing.
Chain of Corruption (R) roots a whole group and chains outward to whoever stands close: you pick your sleep target calmly, and nobody has a way out of the Paddle Star! (Q) line while you are charging it.
Make It Rain (E) slows a whole area for exactly as long as the bubble needs to travel, which is the only reason you ever miss it, and Bullet Time (R) then closes out the targets your burst leaves half dead.
You take her for one thing: Buster Shot (R) is the only way a marksman physically removes the assassin from your face, and you have neither shield nor dash. Just above 48% win rate on the CN server, though, you pay for it.
Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) is the one ability you cannot afford to miss, and on a target hooked by Death Sentence (Q) you never miss it. Dark Passage (W) then pulls you out of the spots Portal Jump (R) keeps dropping you back into.
Dark Binding (Q) roots for a full two seconds, so the bubble and Paddle Star! (Q) both land on someone who can do nothing about it, and Black Shield (E) blocks the incoming crowd control that kills you before you can react.
Whimsy (W) polymorphs the assassin mid-dash and Rampant Growth (R) gives you bonus health while knocking up whoever is on top of you: the two answers to a dive you do not have, since Portal Jump (R) always returns you to your starting spot.
Chronoshift (R) puts you back on your feet after the burst that deletes you, the most concrete defence you will ever get, and re-bombing the same target with Time Bomb (Q) detonates instantly for a 1.2-second stun the bubble slots into.
When Rocket Grab (Q) lands it hands you a lone, stunned carry, which is a full combo at no risk. When it misses you are left with a support who protects you from nothing: it is a bet, not a plan.

Zoe, the Aspect of Twilight, is a burst mage played in the mid lane in Wild Rift who combines some of the highest damage output in her kit with very low survivability — she's built to end a fight in one clean rotation, not to stand and trade. Every point of that damage comes from magic-damage skillshots and an empowered auto-attack, so she lives and dies by landing Paddle Star and Sleepy Trouble Bubble rather than by raw stats. She's also the game's resident spell thief, able to steal and reuse enemy summoner spells and item actives for tempo plays no other mage has access to.
Skill order: Q > E > W — take R at every level it's available (5, 9, 13).
Lane from max range and treat Paddle Star as your primary trading tool — it scales hard with distance, so chip from beyond minion range instead of trading up close. Only commit Sleepy Trouble Bubble once you're confident it lands, since missing it costs you your best damage and your main kill threat for several seconds. Against other skillshot mages, the trade often comes down to who uses minions as cover better, so stay behind your wave and only extend once you've baited out their answer. Prioritize picking up spell shards from enemy summoner casts and nearby minion kills — a free Flash or Ignite from Spell Thief can win an all-in you'd otherwise lose, and once Portal Jump unlocks at level 5 you gain a real kill threat even in lanes you were losing.
In the mid-to-late game, hang on the edge of fights and wait for a clean look at the enemy's priority target — usually the backline carry or whoever wanders into bubble range — then open with Sleepy Trouble Bubble and follow through with Q and an auto once the sleep triggers. Use Portal Jump to create an attack angle the enemy isn't watching, remembering you can still cast and attack during the jump but can't move and will automatically return to your starting spot after a second. Stay behind your frontline outside of these windows: Zoe has no shield, dash, or hard escape of her own and folds instantly to focus. Save a stolen Ignite or Exhaust from Spell Thief for the moment it swings a skirmish — the extra summoner spell is often the real difference in a close fight.
